Elena Ioriatti is Full Professor of Comparative Private Law at the Trento University, Faculty of Law (Italy). In 2022, she was elected as a member of the Academic Senate at Trento University. She teaches Comparative Legal Systems, Comparative Law Methodology and Comparative Law and Language. She has published and edited eight books and a huge number of articles in Italian, English and French. Her last book, 'Comparative Legal Systems. An Introduction’ (Giappichelli) was published in 2024.
Prof. Ioriatti is the editor in chief of the journal ‘Comparative Law and Language’, edited by Trento University. She has been appointed national reporter for Italy at the XX World Congress of Comparative Law (Fukuoka, Japan) on bilingual legal education and she is regularly invited as guest speaker in Italy and abroad. In particular, she has held a speech on legal translation at the prestigious Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in Rome. She is member of the LinE – Center for Language Education (Trento University), the International Academy of Comparative Law (Paris), the Société de législation comparé (Paris), the ELI - European Law Institute (Vienna), the SIRD – Società Italiana per la Ricerca nel Diritto Comparato and of the AELFE language association (Spain).
