Cristina Vezzaro holds a Masters’ Degree in Translation from the University of Geneva (1994). She has translated German, French and English fiction, non-fiction, poetry and theatre plays into Italian (among others Fouad Laroui, Ulrich Peltzer, Kathrin Röggla, Sherko Fatah, François Vallejo, Aldo Naouri, René Pollesch, Nigel Farndale, Sophie Daull, Wolf Wondratschek, Maxi Obexer, Sibylle Lewitscharoff, Ulrike Draesner, Antje Rávik Strubel, Tanja Raich, Demian Lienhard). In 2013, L’esteta radicale by the Prix Goncourt de la Nouvelle recipient Fouad Laroui was awarded the Premio Alziator in her translation. In 2022 she was awarded the Premio Internazionale del Casinò di Sanremo Antonio Semeria, sezione "Narrativa internazionale", for her translation of Wolf Wondratschek's Selbstbild mit russischem Klavier.
