International Academy for Translation and Interpreting (IATI) and University of Innsbruck (emeritus)
Lew N. Zybatow is a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, president of the International Academy for Translation and Interpreting (IATI) as well as member of the management and editorial boards of scientific associations and scientific publication series. He is now professor emeritus of the Department for Translation Studies (INTRAWI) at the University of Innsbruck where he taught Translation Studies since 1999. He studied at the Moscow State Linguistic University, achieved his doctorate at the University of Leipzig and his habilitation at the Free University of Berlin. He has teaching and research experiences at the Universities of Leipzig, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Bielefeld and Innsbruck. His main research interests are translation theory, methodology of translation studies, interpreting studies, film translation, literary translation, language contact, language change and multilingualism. He is the founder and editor of the series ‘Forum für Translationswissenschaft’ at Peter Lang Verlag Frankfurt am Main, co-editor of the series ‘Linguistik International’ at the same publishing house and co-editor of the series ‘Editiones EuroCom’ at Shaker Verlag Aachen.
